Common Beginner Errors and How to Fix Them

Syntax errors happen when the code breaks the language rules, such as a missing bracket or colon. The error message names the line, so start there and check the lines just above it as well.

A program that waits for input can stop with an end-of-file error if no values are provided. Supply the input the program asks for, or in Python type your answers in the output as the program runs.

An endless loop makes the program exceed the time limit. Check that the loop condition can become false and that the counter changes each pass. Add a print statement inside the loop to see what is happening.
